Support disk for self-adhesive discs HST359
Klingspor HST 359 self-adhesive backing pad for medium-duty grinding and polishing
Grinding with a large stock removal rate using hand-held machines can be carried out using abrasive discs. The most effective devices for this are angle grinders and hand-held drills. Two methods are commonly used to attach abrasive discs to the backing pad:
screwing – for this purpose the abrasive disc has a central hole
HST 359: fastening with Velcro – for this purpose the abrasive disc has a velour or self-adhesive fleece backing
Self-adhesive backing pads such as the Klingspor HST 359 make work much easier
Using the HST 359 backing pad, you can basically do all kinds of work. Depending on the specific application – aggressive grinding, smoothing, derusting, finishing, polishing or surface finishing – the appropriate abrasive is selected. All abrasive discs from the Klingspor range that have a self-adhesive backing can be used on the HST 359 self-adhesive backing disc.
Which abrasive is suitable? The right abrasive should be selected for the planned work. Coarse grinding requires a coarse grit, while fine grinding and polishing require a fine grit. For grinding hard materials such as glass, ceramics and mineral materials, a suitably hard grit such as silicon carbide should be selected, while soft but robust materials are ground using one of three types of electrocorundum (electrocorundum, zirconia electrocorundum or ceramic electrocorundum).
Each of these variants is available in the Klingspor range as a suitable disc with a self-adhesive backing, and the HST 359 self-adhesive backing disc for self-adhesive discs is designed for precisely this purpose. The backing disc is designed for medium-duty grinding and polishing.
Easy sanding disc change with hook and loop fastening
The self-adhesive support disc HST 359 has a fine hook and loop backing to which sanding discs with a velour or self-adhesive fleece backing can be securely attached. To change the sanding disc, simply pull off the old sanding material by hand. No tools are required. When fitting the new sanding disc, pay attention to the central positioning in order to minimise imbalance and thus vibration.
